2023 Busan Super Cup International Yacht Race returns to Suyeong Bay

 

 

This weekend, dozens of yachts will race in the waters off Haeundae and Gwangalli. Busan is hosting the 2023 Busan Super Cup International Yacht Race from April 27 to 30 in Suyeong Bay.

(이번 주말에는 해운대와 광안리 앞바다에서 요트 수십 척이 레이스를 펼칩니다. 부산은 수영만에서 4월 27일부터 30일까지 2023년 부산 슈퍼컵 국제 요트 경기를 개최합니다.)

 

This marks the 18th year of the annual yacht competition, the oldest and largest of its kind in Korea. Thirty-two teams with athletes from 10 countries will compete for trophies, cash prizes and bragging rights. Yacht crews will hit the decks for a Sea Parade at 12:30 p.m. on April 28, followed by the weekend’s first race at 2 p.m.

(올해로 18년째를 맞는 요트대회는 국내에서 가장 오래되고 규모가 큰 대회입니다. 10개국에서 온 선수들로 구성된 32개 팀이 트로피, 상금, 그리고 자랑할 권리를 놓고 경쟁할 것입니다. 요트 승무원들은 4월 28일 오후 12시 30분에 바다 퍼레이드를 위해 갑판으로 나올 것이고, 이어서 2시에 주말의 첫 번째 경주가 있을 것입니다.)

 

In addition, the event will feature promotional booths that give information about marine debris upcycling programs. Visitors can learn how defunct sailing equipment and plastic pollution can be upcycled to help keep our oceans clean.
